Contemporary art gallery

I have for over 10 years been an advocate for a contemporary art space for Bath. I ran the Tate in Bath and I have presented numerous exhibitions including 'In Theory' opened by Lars Nittve the first director of Tate Modern. The Victoria art gallery a publicly funded gallery is run on commercial terms because it is so poorly funded and competes with local galleries for sales. The Holburne Museum will have the constraint of relating its contemporary exhibitions to the 18C collection. There are a number of groups with interests and different proposals for an arts venue but these have come, gone, and haltered. There are a number of possible venues and here is a scheme I drew up in 2007 that links in this underused space with the vaults of the Guildhall and The Victoria art gallery storgage space.
